The MAP Foundation and its museum project relies on funding from a wide range of sources. In India, the cultural sector receives inadequate public funding and as a result most museums are failing to fulfill their civic roles. Private and corporate philanthropists in the arts therefore, have a real opportunity to pave the way for a brighter future for public engagement with art and culture, especially in education in this field, and to make a perceivable difference to the future of museums.
